In 2025, an archaeological evaluation conducted in preparation for the Seine-Nord Europe Canal project revealed remains associated with the final occupation phase of an ancient glue-making workshop (dating from the second half of the 3rd century to the early 4th century) in the municipality of Béthencourt-sur-Somme (Somme, France). The trenches exposed the continuation of a Roman road and an isolated burial. The route appears to have remained in use over the long term, as a medieval settlement was established there around the 7th century. This article is necessarily incomplete given the absence of a full archaeological excavation, due to a modification of the developer project.
