The Gallic cremation necropolis of La Chavatte (80) was excavated in 2018 during work for the gas pipeline "Artère du Santerre". Although it is in line with major regional trends, it has a number of special features. One of the tombs dated La Tène D1, original in many respects, contained the wooden remains of what turned out to be a channel for libations. This is a rather rare discovery. The interpretation is the result of a protocol of analyses (xylology, micro-morphology and organic chemistry), implemented according to a progressive approach established from the field findings.
