In recent decades, several hundred Gallo-Roman burials have been found in Amiens. The funerary areas which have been excavated are essentially to the east of the city and have produced a number of stelae with interesting inscribed iconography. Four of these memorial monuments of the inhabitants of Samarobriva are presented here: two, whose state of conservation does not allow us to specify whether there was an engraved epitaph, and two others, which have preserved the inscribed text, one partially, the other almost entirely. It is possible to link them with other Gallo-Roman discoveries, thus improving our knowledge of the ancient population of this city. Traduction : John LYNCH
