A test excavation undertaken at n° 3 Rue de la Roseraie at Soissons (Aisne) yielded a set of ceramics giving a good sample of the ware in use in the mid-3rd century A.D. in a residential area of the main town of the civitas of the Suessiones. In addition to the presence of certain uncommon items, the set is notable for the diversity of its supply sources, which testifies to a very active trade, local as well as mid- or long-range.
