The excavation of the La Tène and Gallo-Roman sanctuary at Saint-Just-en-Chaussée (Oise) yielded an imposing enclosure ditch in which were found impressive deposits of animal bones. Its complicated stratigraphy made it necessary to resort to analyses in order to understand certain phenomena, such as the many laminations, and their origins. Likewise, in the case of four very unusual pits, various scientific approaches were used with a view to obtaining a cluster of clues that could help to elucidate them: were they perhaps associated with (a) banquet(s)?
