This paper presents a summary of the different interpretations of ancient votive offerings dating from the Hellenistic period in Central Italy. After a brief description of the quantities, localisation and typology of the votive offerings, it recapitulates the different hypotheses as to the distribution of these offerings, and, finally, suggests a tentative new interpretation of these artefacts.
