Within the framework of archaeological excavations carried out in the Oise district, two graves dating from the Middle Neolithic II were found at La Croix-Saint-Ouen and at Choisy-au-Bac. The first one, well preserved, includes certain features on both sides of the deceased which suggest comparisons with the “Chamblandes” type. The second one is in rather poor condition, with no evidence of any hole digging, but its features are atypical. Only a small number of graves of this period are known in the Oise valley. At Choisy-au-Bac, the exploratory extension of the excavation around the grave did not yield any other evidence for this period. At La Croix-Saint-Ouen, only a few remains can be ascribed to the Neolithic, and it is not possible to demonstrate that they are contemporary with the grave.
