An archaeological survey completed at Corbie (Somme) on a plot of land known as “Le Clos de l’Abbaye” (“The Abbey enclosure”) enabled the discovery of kilns showing that potters were working there during the 14th century. This workshop produced dark coloured and red ware, with a variety of different shapes among the most common at that time (tripod cooking pots, pitchers, handled pots, frying pans, creamers and curfews.
