The « Bellé » medieval site at Neuilly-en-Thelle (Oise) excavated in 1997, links up with an ancien farming hamlet attested in the second part on the XIIth century. Remains of rural housing were revealed, dating from the XIV th, destroyed by fire and, in the XVII th century, showing evidence of rebuilding. At the beginning of the XVIIIth century a coaching inn took over the farm but the building were razed to the ground soon after, and the whole site turned into grassland.

Apart from agricultural aspects from the end of the Middel Ages to modern times, the site supplied material evidence in quantity, especially iron implements.

The aim of the present article is describe the organisation of built-up space as found in the large farms of south-eastern Beauvaisis, in the Pays de Thelle bordering the Beaumont county.
